Whoops!

Why whoops, well I thought I had this post set to be published a few days ago...uh no. But here it is for you now. I hope you guys are not getting sick of Pretty and Polished. Chels has been chugging out some awesome polishes! Today I have Mannequin Hands and Everybody Loves Penguin.
Your lovely bottle shots
Lets get the one that I wasn't crazy about out of the way first. Mannequin Hands is a flesh tone base with pastel pink glitter. Now all of the technical aspects were great: easy application (I only needed two coats), dried quickly, lasted three days without chipping. I just personally did not like the color against my skin tone. It gave me what I like to call lobster hands. I'm not a huge fan of pink polish so this was stepping outside the box.

Next up is Everybody Loves Penguin. It is a white base (but not bright white) with medium hex yellow glitter and black hex glitter in a variety of sizes. I really liked this one. The concept is so simple but I don't have one like this in my collection. Surprisingly I only need to use two coats. The yellow glitter came out easily but I had to work hard to get out some of the black glitter. And I went digging for treasure looking for that big black hex on my pinkie!!

It's just so cute!!

Mathematical!!

Today I have a couple polishes from Pretty and Polished Mathematical collection: Peebles and My Lumps. The Mathematical collection is based off the children's show 'Adventure Time'. I totally had to google what it was because I had no idea.

First up is Peebles, which represents Princess Bubblegum.

Peebles is a pink squishy jelly with pink and yellow glitter. Since it is a jelly it went on sheer. I used 3 coats. The application is very easy and dries in an appropriate time. I'm not a huge fan of pink but I like this one a lot.

Next is My Lumps which represents Lumpy Space Princess (Okay seriously? How did they come up with that lol).

Lumps is a purple jelly with purple and gold shards. Not to be lame but this polish is actually lumpy. It can be tricky to apply. I didn't even notice the purple shards until I tried to apply it. It's a cool polish. Not my favorite of the collection but a good concept. I used three thinner coats to try and spread out the shards.

Oh and how awesome are the new P&P labels!! Love them!

First Experience: Hare Asteroid Turf

Okay, this is going to be fast....I just worked a 17 hour shift and I think I'm tired (not even sure lol!). So this is Hare Asteroid Turf. It is a green jelly base with pinkish/purplish glitter. It's awesome! I don't have anything like this in my collection. This is with three coats.

Sorry my cuticles and my nails suck in general...the job has torn them up.

Up close and personal
Again I'm sorry I haven't been posting so much. I've been trying to add a watermark to my photos before I do my post but it takes me forever! I need something that I can edit/crop/add watermark and then post in less than five minutes. I'm going to go soak my hands in olive oil lol!

Until next time (hopefully soon),
Don't spill your polish:)

PS: The giveaway is still coming!! I got the rest of the polishes in the mail I wanted to add!! Yay!!

You Must Be Pretty Special If I Bought You!

I hardly buy pink polish. There's something about it that just turns me off (I'm the same way with red polish). Occasionally I'll find something that stands out and I have to have it! Pretty & Polished Punk'd Up Betty is one of them. It is a combination of black (2 kinds), pink (2 kinds), and some white glitter (1 kind) in a clear base. There are little surprises of a large satin glitter. You can see it in the bottle shot.
AMAZING! I like to layer glitter polishes over a solid color because I feel like it is easier to take off and it can add some depth. Well I was stuck. I couldn't think of anything to layer with Betty. Finally it hit me...I went to my ManGlaze stash and busted out Lesbi-Honest (love the name and love the art on the bottle lol). I did one layer of Lesbi and two coats of Betty. I think this combination turned out great! Lesbi really made the glitter in Betty pop!

Betty was extremely easy to work with. Not to thick and the glitter spread evenly. I topped everything off with Gelous and CG Fast Forward. My nails were nice and smooth!
Bottle Shot!
I love P&P! She comes out with some great polishes and shipping is always fast. I'm so happy she will be working with Llarowe!

First Experience: Rainbow Honey

Today has been one of the longest days of my life. I took my RN boards. I was one of the lucky ones that got to answer 240 questions! Yay! It was tremendous (sarcasm). Afterwards I went and bought a good amount of nail polish:) Made me feel a little better.
So I received my first Rainbow Honey polish a few days ago. I only ordered A Little Kindness from her Equestria Collection. This is my first polish from Rainbow Honey so I felt like I was dipping my toe in the water, checkin' things out, it's my feeler polish, etc.
I believe these polishes were inspired by different My Little Ponies. A Little Kindness is a light soft yellow base with iridescent pink shimmer. Rose, white, gold, and small green glitter are spread throughout.

Ok, so it cracks me up the combination I decided to use. Here we have this innocent, fun, light glitter inspired by a freakin' little pony and I go and layer it over ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly. It just seems....a little wrong lol! But I think it turned out pretty awesome.

I did one layer of A Little Kindness over one layer of Fuggen Ugly. Kindness was so easy to apply and it dried quickly. I love the bottle and I really like the design of her label. It's so unique.
I definitely would like to order some more Rainbow Honey at some point. The color combinations I've been seeing online are amazing!

F4 Polish Bubble-Yum

You may remember from yesterday I did a post about Piper from F4 Polish. Well today  I have its pink sister: Bubble-Yum. It to has the white glitter but also different colors and sizes of pink glitter. I'm not a huge pink fan but I liked how bright this polish was and as we know, white glitter is my crack:)

Up close and personal!
I did two layers over China Glaze QT. I'm not a huge fan of this combination (too much pink) so I think next time I'll layer it over black.
After trying 2 of F4 glitter polishes I can say the formula is great. The glitter is very easy to work with. This may be super weird but when I shake it I can hear the mixing ball...which is something I like!!! I love the sound and when I don't hear one it makes me nervous lol!
Question: do you guys every add your own mixing balls to a polish?

Kismet's Pajamas

I have a lovely polish for you today. Kismet's Pajamas by Whimsical Ideas by Pam (which is named after her cat).
Where to start...So many amazing aspects about it.

Let's start with the bottle. Look at this! It's beautiful! The label, the bow, the freakin' bottle itself. Not only is it gorgeous but it's also professional! You can tell Pam takes her time here. Now to the polish...

Natural Sunlight
Kismet is a black jelly base with silver and pink glitter. It was very easy to apply and the glitter smoothed on evenly. It was opaque in 2 coats and dried relatively quick. I topped it with Cult Nail Wicked Fast.

Artificial Light
Seriously, go check out her Facebook page for more pictures and ordering information. I'm so impressed by her talent and professionalism! She has a customer for life!

Until next time,
Don't spill your polish:)

AquaDaisy Succulent (Color Focus on Blue)

I was recently introduced to AquaDaisy nail polish while browsing on Facebook. I immediately went over to her Etsy store and snagged up a bottle of Succulent. The color is described as a mint green with several sizes of pink/fuchsia glitter. I personally think it leans more on the blue side. This is an amazing color and it dried fast, which is one of my favorite aspects of a polish! This quickly become a favorite.

Seriously, go check this shop out here!

China Glaze Purple Panic

Purple Panic is a neon pink. I've seen many blogs that say it has very fine blue shimmer. I have a very hard time seeing it. I just see a blue undertone. It dried matte but I used Poshe topcoat to give it some shine.
I'm not the biggest pink fan but this one will stay in my collection. I can even see myself pulling for it. If it was not a neon, super, ridiculous, pink it may have been another story.

Another Tronica.....

One thing I like about the China Glaze Tronica collection is that when I need to do a fast, quick drying manicure, I can count on these colors. Here I have Hyper Haute. I really enjoy this raspberry pink color. I'm usually really picky about my pinks and don't wear them to often. I do like the 'halo' finish. Of course I know the big complaint is that these are not true halos. I finally caved and bought DV8, QT, and LOL from the OMG collection so I can experience a true halo. They go for a nice little penny on eBay. I'm really excited though and I plan on doing comparisons.

On another note I'd like to explain my on how I will continue to do my blog posts. I don't buy whole collections, only the colors I like. I have no order on the colors I wear. I just pick whatever I feel like for the day. So you'll see stuff from old collections and new. Of course I don't plan on repeat colors:)
