Whoops!

Why whoops, well I thought I had this post set to be published a few days ago...uh no. But here it is for you now. I hope you guys are not getting sick of Pretty and Polished. Chels has been chugging out some awesome polishes! Today I have Mannequin Hands and Everybody Loves Penguin.

Lets get the one that I wasn't crazy about out of the way first. Mannequin Hands is a flesh tone base with pastel pink glitter. Now all of the technical aspects were great: easy application (I only needed two coats), dried quickly, lasted three days without chipping. I just personally did not like the color against my skin tone. It gave me what I like to call lobster hands. I'm not a huge fan of pink polish so this was stepping outside the box.

Next up is Everybody Loves Penguin. It is a white base (but not bright white) with medium hex yellow glitter and black hex glitter in a variety of sizes. I really liked this one. The concept is so simple but I don't have one like this in my collection. Surprisingly I only need to use two coats. The yellow glitter came out easily but I had to work hard to get out some of the black glitter. And I went digging for treasure looking for that big black hex on my pinkie!!

Lazy Lazy Manicure!

I love, love, love this polish!!! This is Boy Bleu by Pretty and Polished. It is the 'boy version' of Punk'd Up Betty (review here) but has blue, black and white glitter. So why is this a lazy manicure? Well yesterday I did a review on P&P The Young Hero (here). All I did was add one coat of Boy Bleu over that manicure. I think it looks pretty sweet! Application was perfect and the glitter went on smooth.

The Young Hero

Another wonderful polish from Pretty and Polished Mathematical collection. It is based on the character Finn The Human. 

I am such a sucker for a white creme base polished. I knew I had to have this on! Along with the white base it has blue, yellow and green glitter. It applies similar to Jawbreaker. This is two coats topped with Sally Hansen Inst-Dri.

More Of The New Pretty and Polished

I have a couple more Pretty and Polished for you today: Xmas Wreath and Pretty as a Peacock. 

Xmas Wreath is a dark green polish with red, green and holo glitter. It's pretty, it's festive but not my favorite P&P I own. Maybe it's because there are so many holiday polishes out right now. Formula-wise it was a breeze. I did two coats and topped it with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. 

Ok, now Pretty as a Peacock is drop dead gorgeous. It's one of those polishes that looks better on nails than in the bottle. Peacock is an emerald green base with blue, teal, purple and green glitter. The formula was also perfect. The swatch is two coats topped with SH Inst-Dru. It seems that this color combo is popular right  now (well peacock colors in general).

Mathematical!!

Today I have a couple polishes from Pretty and Polished Mathematical collection: Peebles and My Lumps. The Mathematical collection is based off the children's show 'Adventure Time'. I totally had to google what it was because I had no idea. 

First up is Peebles, which represents Princess Bubblegum. 

Peebles is a pink squishy jelly with pink and yellow glitter. Since it is a jelly it went on sheer. I used 3 coats. The application is very easy and dries in an appropriate time. I'm not a huge fan of pink but I like this one a lot. 

Next is My Lumps which represents Lumpy Space Princess (Okay seriously? How did they come up with that lol). 

Lumps is a purple jelly with purple and gold shards. Not to be lame but this polish is actually lumpy. It can be tricky to apply. I didn't even notice the purple shards until I tried to apply it. It's a cool polish. Not my favorite of the collection but a good concept. I used three thinner coats to try and spread out the shards. 

Oh and how awesome are the new P&P labels!! Love them!

It Gets Better (it really does)!!!

Today I have Pretty and Polished It Gets Better. Chels made this wonderful polish for the It Gets Better Project. This project was created to show young LGBT people the level of happiness, potential and positivity their lives will reach. The project reminds teenagers in the LGBT that they are not alone...And it WILL get better. Chels is also donating 50% of the profits to the organization. That is just amazing. 

It Gets Better is a mint green base (kind of jelly/kind of creme) will multi-color hex glitter. It went on a little sheer so I used three coats to reach opacity. It also dried quickly, always a plus!

What I Did For Halloween!!

So I kept it simple for my Halloween manicure. I decided to use Pretty and Polished Jack O Lantern. A yellow base with different sized orange glitter. The consistency was a little thick so I only used two coats and topped it with Seche Vite. I actually still have it on and it hasn't chipped a bit! Oh yeah...It glows in the freakin' dark!! Sorry for not having a pic of it glowing but I couldn't figure out how to take it....

Pretty and Polished Galax-E

I was extremely lucky to win Tough As Nails Lacquer 100 Likes giveaway back on July 3rd. I received my package roughly a week and half ago. It was so exciting!!! I've never won a giveaway before. Below is on of the polishes I won. A full size bottle of Pretty and Polished Galax-E. As cheesy as this sounds, it does look like space on my nails. It's a black base with different colors of micro glitter. I only needed two coats. This is with no topcoat.

Pretty and Polished has been a win in my book every time. I always like what I receive and it's a quality product. Pretty and Polished sells on Etsy (her shop will be open tonight at 8pm EST for a small restock) and over on Llarowe. She did a wonderful thing recently and offered a pre-sale. I can't wait to get my package. I can't wait to debut Tough As Nails Lacquer polishes that I also received in the giveaway! She currently has some listed on Etsy.

You Must Be Pretty Special If I Bought You!

I hardly buy pink polish. There's something about it that just turns me off (I'm the same way with red polish). Occasionally I'll find something that stands out and I have to have it! Pretty & Polished Punk'd Up Betty is one of them. It is a combination of black (2 kinds), pink (2 kinds), and some white glitter (1 kind) in a clear base. There are little surprises of a large satin glitter. You can see it in the bottle shot. 

AMAZING! I like to layer glitter polishes over a solid color because I feel like it is easier to take off and it can add some depth. Well I was stuck. I couldn't think of anything to layer with Betty. Finally it hit me...I went to my ManGlaze stash and busted out Lesbi-Honest (love the name and love the art on the bottle lol). I did one layer of Lesbi and two coats of Betty. I think this combination turned out great! Lesbi really made the glitter in Betty pop!

Betty was extremely easy to work with. Not to thick and the glitter spread evenly. I topped everything off with Gelous and CG Fast Forward. My nails were nice and smooth!

I love P&P! She comes out with some great polishes and shipping is always fast. I'm so happy she will be working with Llarowe!

Pretty and Polished Phoenix

Do you ever buy a polish and it looks just 'okay' in the bottle. This happened with me and Pretty and Polished Phoenix. Now it looks pretty in the bottle but damn! It looks awesome on the nails!! Blew my freakin' mind. Phoenix has an orange tint with small yellow, orange, and red glitters. Floating throughout you'll also see red hexagonal glitter. 

I did two layers over China Glaze Riveting (which is great also and I need to wear it alone so I can do a proper review).

Pretty and Polished Custom!!

A while back I ordered from Pretty and Polished. A color was missing from order. Wasn't a big deal. When my polish did arrive Chels included a custom polish!! I was shocked by the gesture. It made my day:) Check out the layering I did below. 

I used 2 coats of China Glaze Virtual Violet and 2 coats of the custom Pretty and Polished (it doesn't have a name). It's like she read my mind on what I like in a nail polish color. I see silver, blue and purple!!

Flakey Friday (Whoops)...

So this post was supposed to be up a 7am but I forgot to hit the publish button...Whoops!! I decided to have a theme for Fridays and Mondays. As you can see it's Flakey Friday!! Super cheesy right!? Below is Pretty and Polished Midnight Rider with Cult Nails Clairvoyant (Unicorn Puke!) on top. I know the pictures are not that great but it was cloudy out and I tried to take them in the bathroom. Also I hate taking pictures of this hand. It's my left hand but also it's my 'I'm stressed/nervous so I'm going to pick at my cuticles' hand. It's such a hard habit to break.

Another amazing polish from Pretty and Polished...Midnight Rider. This is a darkened purple base with square purple glitter. This is two coats topped with Sally Hansen Insta-Dry. 

Tomorrow I'll have something fun for you guys!! It'll be a start of a theme that I'm going to do on Friday's.
