Uh....Hey....Hello.....Sorry It's Been So Long

*Peeking around corner*.....'Hey I'm an asshole' :)

So I know it's been forever!!! And I apologize. As you may have read in earlier post I've been working as an RN for a few years now. My job became my life and I was working way, way, waaayyy too much overtime. Starting a few months ago I decided to nix that in the butt and I changed departments. I'm an ER RN now (which I fucking love!! No seriously, I love my fucking job!!). My nails took a back seat for a while. You would have been APPALLED! They were terrible. I re-took up my bad habit of *GASP*....biting my nails (pretend my face is twisted in horror). A couple weeks ago I was looking over my polishes and my blog and asked myself 'what the hell are you doing'? I totally miss this and I don't think I sucked too bad lol. So I've been letting my nails grow. The best way to get myself to stop biting them is to paint them. I've been making sure I use the proper hand/nail lotion at work. So Wa-lah....here is my first post in forever.

PS. I had to use my iPhone to take these pictures because I lost my memory card for my camera...whooops.

Up we have a lovely polish from B Squared Lacquer. This is my first experience with this brand and I'm very happy! Sugar Plum is a dark rich purple halo with purple shimmer. Rainbows and sunshine on my damn nails!!!

What I Did For Halloween!!

So I kept it simple for my Halloween manicure. I decided to use Pretty and Polished Jack O Lantern. A yellow base with different sized orange glitter. The consistency was a little thick so I only used two coats and topped it with Seche Vite. I actually still have it on and it hasn't chipped a bit! Oh yeah...It glows in the freakin' dark!! Sorry for not having a pic of it glowing but I couldn't figure out how to take it....

Never disappointed when I order from Chels!

First Experience: Hare Asteroid Turf

Okay, this is going to be fast....I just worked a 17 hour shift and I think I'm tired (not even sure lol!). So this is Hare Asteroid Turf. It is a green jelly base with pinkish/purplish glitter. It's awesome! I don't have anything like this in my collection. This is with three coats.

Sorry my cuticles and my nails suck in general...the job has torn them up.

Up close and personal
Again I'm sorry I haven't been posting so much. I've been trying to add a watermark to my photos before I do my post but it takes me forever! I need something that I can edit/crop/add watermark and then post in less than five minutes. I'm going to go soak my hands in olive oil lol!

Until next time (hopefully soon),

PS: The giveaway is still coming!! I got the rest of the polishes in the mail I wanted to add!! Yay!!

Smitten Polish Aquarius

When I first saw swatches of Smitten Polish. I knew I needed to own a few. They were such gorgeous colors. Today I have Aquarius. It is a teal base with small teal and purple glitter. I loved the color on as much as the swatches I had seen.

This is three coats with no topcoat. The formula was pretty thick. Between each coat I shook the bottle some which helped. The color is worth it. She still has some colors available in her Etsy shop! Check them out!!

Pretty and Polished Galax-E

I was extremely lucky to win Tough As Nails Lacquer 100 Likes giveaway back on July 3rd. I received my package roughly a week and half ago. It was so exciting!!! I've never won a giveaway before. Below is on of the polishes I won. A full size bottle of Pretty and Polished Galax-E. As cheesy as this sounds, it does look like space on my nails. It's a black base with different colors of micro glitter. I only needed two coats. This is with no topcoat.

Pretty and Polished has been a win in my book every time. I always like what I receive and it's a quality product. Pretty and Polished sells on Etsy (her shop will be open tonight at 8pm EST for a small restock) and over on Llarowe. She did a wonderful thing recently and offered a pre-sale. I can't wait to get my package. I can't wait to debut Tough As Nails Lacquer polishes that I also received in the giveaway! She currently has some listed on Etsy

Crow's Toes Bunny Slope

Another first experience! Crow's Toes Bunny Slope is a mix of white, silver and opalescent glitter in a clear base. I could have used this by itself, the glitter is so concentrated. Below is 1 coat over 1 coat of China Glaze Flying Dragon. I had a great experience ordering my first polishes from Crow's. I'm excited to try some more. I just heard she will be selling at Llarowe! Yay!

Sorry the pictures kind of suck. It was stormy out today and I had to take them inside.

First Experience: Rainbow Honey

Today has been one of the longest days of my life. I took my RN boards. I was one of the lucky ones that got to answer 240 questions! Yay! It was tremendous (sarcasm). Afterwards I went and bought a good amount of nail polish:) Made me feel a little better.
So I received my first Rainbow Honey polish a few days ago. I only ordered A Little Kindness from her Equestria Collection. This is my first polish from Rainbow Honey so I felt like I was dipping my toe in the water, checkin' things out, it's my feeler polish, etc.
I believe these polishes were inspired by different My Little Ponies. A Little Kindness is a light soft yellow base with iridescent pink shimmer. Rose, white, gold, and small green glitter are spread throughout.

Ok, so it cracks me up the combination I decided to use. Here we have this innocent, fun, light glitter inspired by a freakin' little pony and I go and layer it over ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly. It just seems....a little wrong lol! But I think it turned out pretty awesome.

I did one layer of A Little Kindness over one layer of Fuggen Ugly. Kindness was so easy to apply and it dried quickly. I love the bottle and I really like the design of her label. It's so unique.
I definitely would like to order some more Rainbow Honey at some point. The color combinations I've been seeing online are amazing!

Until next time,

Girly Bits Daddy's Little Girl

I have not been disappointed lately! Daddy's Little Girl is from Girly Bits Calendar Girls Collection. Made for the month of June. Yes, I did wear this on Fathers Day...No, I actually didn't do it on purpose. Little Girls is multiple sizes of sapphire blue, sky blue, purple and fuchsia in a cobalt blue base.

F4 Polish Bubble-Yum

You may remember from yesterday I did a post about Piper from F4 Polish. Well today  I have its pink sister: Bubble-Yum. It to has the white glitter but also different colors and sizes of pink glitter. I'm not a huge pink fan but I liked how bright this polish was and as we know, white glitter is my crack:)

Up close and personal!
I did two layers over China Glaze QT. I'm not a huge fan of this combination (too much pink) so I think next time I'll layer it over black.
After trying 2 of F4 glitter polishes I can say the formula is great. The glitter is very easy to work with. This may be super weird but when I shake it I can hear the mixing ball...which is something I like!!! I love the sound and when I don't hear one it makes me nervous lol!
Question: do you guys every add your own mixing balls to a polish?

Pretty and Polished Phoenix

Do you ever buy a polish and it looks just 'okay' in the bottle. This happened with me and Pretty and Polished Phoenix. Now it looks pretty in the bottle but damn! It looks awesome on the nails!! Blew my freakin' mind. Phoenix has an orange tint with small yellow, orange, and red glitters. Floating throughout you'll also see red hexagonal glitter.

I did two layers over China Glaze Riveting (which is great also and I need to wear it alone so I can do a proper review).

Up Close and Personal

Pretty and Polished has yet to let me down! Chels does great work. You can check her store out on Etsy here. Currently she is out of stock but follow her on FB for updates.

Nautical Nonsense by AmyNailBoutique

Another indie polish for everyone today. This was my first purchase from AmyNailBoutique. Okay, seriously, I had shipping confirmation within 20 minutes of placing my order! Nautical Nonsense is a matte white and blue glitter in a clear base. I was super creative and put it over white (haha). I used two coats of Nautical Nonsense. It spread easily and dried quickly. I was drawn to this one because of the matte glitter. I'm really liking that right now.
In the picture below you can see the white glitter. The combinations for this will be endless.

Lynnderella Bibbitty, Bobbitty, Boo Blue (BBBB)

I had to bust out these archived photos because I've been painting my bathroom and my hands are a mess!! When I took these I was messing with the setting on my camera, trying different angles, and lighting.
I used 2 coat of OPI Swimsuit...Nailed It. I then used 2 coats of Lynnderella BBBB. I topped everything off with Seche Vite!

Enjoy the old school photos!

Floam....And Welcome!!

First of all......holy shit!!! Welcome new followers. What an awesome thing to wake up to. I've been reading your responses to the question 'what is your favorite nail polish' and have seen this color come up a new times. Floam was created by Nail-Venturous (currently her shop is closed). It is a neon blue/yellow/green glitter in a clear base. It's supposed to look like.....well duh floam!!

I actually tried to wear this a few weeks ago. I used the polish alone and before I could take pictures I peeled it off (bad, bad yes I know). So this time I used 2 coats of Floam over 1 coat of China Glaze DV8. I topped everything off with Cult Nails Wicked Fast.
Floam is very thick and dries fast. I think this makes it hard to work with. Is it worth it? Yeah, when I wore it the first time I received a ton of compliments. It seems to make people reminiscence to the 90's lol.

Just be patient while working with it! A ton of different combinations are possible with this color. Oh and PS: I'm scared to take this one off!

Pretty and Polished Custom!!

A while back I ordered from Pretty and Polished. A color was missing from order. Wasn't a big deal. When my polish did arrive Chels included a custom polish!! I was shocked by the gesture. It made my day:) Check out the layering I did below.

I used 2 coats of China Glaze Virtual Violet and 2 coats of the custom Pretty and Polished (it doesn't have a name). It's like she read my mind on what I like in a nail polish color. I see silver, blue and purple!!

Until next time,
Don't spill your polish:)

LushLacquer Birthday Cake

Another indie brand for you today! They are popping up all over the web.  Here I have LushLacquer Birthday Cake. It is a white base with multi colored glitter. You can even see tiny areas where there is some bar glitter. It was a little thick but workable. The 2 coats I used dried relatively quick. I used 2 coats of Cult Wicked Fast to really smooth out that glitter. The best part...I took this picture after wearing it for three days. I think it still looks like a day 1 mani.

Kismet's Pajamas

I have a lovely polish for you today. Kismet's Pajamas by Whimsical Ideas by Pam (which is named after her cat).
Where to start...So many amazing aspects about it.

Let's start with the bottle. Look at this! It's beautiful! The label, the bow, the freakin' bottle itself. Not only is it gorgeous but it's also professional! You can tell Pam takes her time here. Now to the polish...

Natural Sunlight
Kismet is a black jelly base with silver and pink glitter. It was very easy to apply and the glitter smoothed on evenly. It was opaque in 2 coats and dried relatively quick. I topped it with Cult Nail Wicked Fast.

Artificial Light
Seriously, go check out her Facebook page for more pictures and ordering information. I'm so impressed by her talent and professionalism! She has a customer for life!

Happy Easter (A Few Days Early)!

As I've mentioned before, I've been working nights on the weekend for school. It doesn't give me any time to change my polish, so I went ahead and did my Easter manicure today! The color I have below is the perfect Easter polish. It is Candeo Colors Jellybean.

This polish quickly became one of my new favorites. It has the perfect yellow base with pastel glitter. Drool...... Seriously, you guys....I FREAKIN LOVE IT!!!!

Go check out this shop if you can. They have a great selection and ship crazy fast. Currently they are closed but will open again soon.

Dollish Polish Does Barry Manilow Know You Raid His Wardrobe?

The longest name for a polish lol! I love it. Did you guys know the name comes from a quote from the Breakfast Club. Great movie. So lets call this Barry...Barry is a metallic pewter with different sized silver glitter. The formula was great considering the amount of glitter. It smoothed out perfectly. I only needed two coats and I thought it dried a little dull. I used Out The Door for the topcoat which doesn't really add a ton of shine.

I've decided I will know longer show my pointer finger in photos. I think it looks funny so...crop, crop and crop:) Also excuse the cuticles. I picked at them furiously while taking my test yesterday:(
