A Blinding Polish and Nail Water Decals

I have an amazing polish to show off today. China Glaze Glistening Snow from the 2012 Holiday collection. This polish blinded me! It has so much spakly goodness with very fine silver holo glitter. I used three coats because there can be some bald spots on the first coat.
I also experimented with some water decals from RLR Creations which you can check out at http://www.etsy.com/shop/RLRCreationsNailArt. These were incredibly easy to use. All you have to do is cut out the picture  you want and then set it in water for 10-15 seconds. It slides off easily and then you place it on your nail. Now I got my nail slightly wet. That way I could slide the image around until I had it placed in the right spot. I let it dry and then I used my usual top coat, Sally Hansen Insta-Dry. The image lasted two days (well until I changed my polish, sorry no after picture). The image is slightly hard to see but I think this is due to the polish being so bright.
Now for someone who cannot stamp to save my life these nail decals are a great way to add some fun to my nails! I recommend!! RLR has a great selection.

China Glaze Want My Bawdy!

Another color from China Glaze New Bohemian Collection: Want My Bawdy. This is described as a blue duo chrome. I kind of see a hint of purple. This is a great color but I don't think it is 'duo chrome', in my opinion.

This color was very opaque but I still used two coats. If your not careful you can end up with brush strokes. I still like Deviantly Daring better...if I had to pick between the two!

Pleasantly Surprised!

So I wasn't planning on buying any of the China Glaze Bohemian collection. I've been underwhelmed by the swatches I have seen around the net. Walking through Ulta I saw the display and saw one bottle of Deviantly Daring left. Of course I snagged it up. Why because in my polish filled brain I was thinking 'what if this is last bottle on the planet'...'what if I don't buy this one and they sell out EVERYWHERE!!'. So of course I bought it.
Okay, well holy shit on a stick. I think this color is pretty awesome! It's a very pigmented teal that flashes from a darker teal to a oliveish green. You could get away with one coat but I did two just cause.  Enjoy the swatches!

My only complaint is that the bottle was 9$! This is my fault because it was an impulse buy at Ulta. I usually try to buy China Glaze's online or use a coupon, but oh well.

Crow's Toes Bunny Slope

Another first experience! Crow's Toes Bunny Slope is a mix of white, silver and opalescent glitter in a clear base. I could have used this by itself, the glitter is so concentrated. Below is 1 coat over 1 coat of China Glaze Flying Dragon. I had a great experience ordering my first polishes from Crow's. I'm excited to try some more. I just heard she will be selling at Llarowe! Yay!
Flash
Sorry the pictures kind of suck. It was stormy out today and I had to take them inside.

I feel like I've been buying so many Indie polishes lately! If I look at any CG's or OPI's I'm thinking 'this will look good under....'.

F4 Polish Bubble-Yum

You may remember from yesterday I did a post about Piper from F4 Polish. Well today  I have its pink sister: Bubble-Yum. It to has the white glitter but also different colors and sizes of pink glitter. I'm not a huge pink fan but I liked how bright this polish was and as we know, white glitter is my crack:)

Up close and personal!
I did two layers over China Glaze QT. I'm not a huge fan of this combination (too much pink) so I think next time I'll layer it over black.
After trying 2 of F4 glitter polishes I can say the formula is great. The glitter is very easy to work with. This may be super weird but when I shake it I can hear the mixing ball...which is something I like!!! I love the sound and when I don't hear one it makes me nervous lol!
Question: do you guys every add your own mixing balls to a polish?

Pretty and Polished Phoenix

Do you ever buy a polish and it looks just 'okay' in the bottle. This happened with me and Pretty and Polished Phoenix. Now it looks pretty in the bottle but damn! It looks awesome on the nails!! Blew my freakin' mind. Phoenix has an orange tint with small yellow, orange, and red glitters. Floating throughout you'll also see red hexagonal glitter.

I did two layers over China Glaze Riveting (which is great also and I need to wear it alone so I can do a proper review).

Up Close and Personal

Pretty and Polished has yet to let me down! Chels does great work. You can check her store out on Etsy here. Currently she is out of stock but follow her on FB for updates.

Excuse Me While I Wipe The Drool Off My Face!!

I've been waiting to use Lush Lacquer's Salt N' Peppa until I got my hands on some of the China Glaze Summer Neons. I just had this combination stuck in my brain. Well I finally came across a display while I was in Ulta. I actually only got 1 on this trip...I'm With The Lifeguard. It is a bright yellow toned neon green. No problem with the application and was opaque with 2 coats.

There are a couple more I want from this China Glaze collection but I'm going to go back and use a coupon I have. Honestly I can't stand paying full price for CG...as bad as that sounds. They are up to 7$ now.

Up close and personal (I love how the glitter looks like it's floating on the base color)

Lush Lacquer's Salt N' Peppa is that black and white glitter combo that we've been seeing all over the place...but...It has iridescent glitter mixed. I absolutely love it! It went on so smooth and the glitter spread easily. I normally never think of getting backs up of colors but I want to order more of this.  Lush Lacquer has been a winner! Such a great indie brand by two lovely ladies! Thank you designing these polishes. So more to swatch!

Floam....And Welcome!!

First of all......holy shit!!! Welcome new followers. What an awesome thing to wake up to. I've been reading your responses to the question 'what is your favorite nail polish' and have seen this color come up a new times. Floam was created by Nail-Venturous (currently her shop is closed). It is a neon blue/yellow/green glitter in a clear base. It's supposed to look like.....well duh floam!!

I actually tried to wear this a few weeks ago. I used the polish alone and before I could take pictures I peeled it off (bad, bad yes I know). So this time I used 2 coats of Floam over 1 coat of China Glaze DV8. I topped everything off with Cult Nails Wicked Fast.
Floam is very thick and dries fast. I think this makes it hard to work with. Is it worth it? Yeah, when I wore it the first time I received a ton of compliments. It seems to make people reminiscence to the 90's lol.

Just be patient while working with it! A ton of different combinations are possible with this color. Oh and PS: I'm scared to take this one off!

Pretty and Polished Custom!!

A while back I ordered from Pretty and Polished. A color was missing from order. Wasn't a big deal. When my polish did arrive Chels included a custom polish!! I was shocked by the gesture. It made my day:) Check out the layering I did below.

I used 2 coats of China Glaze Virtual Violet and 2 coats of the custom Pretty and Polished (it doesn't have a name). It's like she read my mind on what I like in a nail polish color. I see silver, blue and purple!!

Until next time,

China Glaze Midnight Mission

Midnight Mission came out in the Vintage Vixen collection back in 2010. It is a deep blue with a metallic/foil finish. It seemed everyone was raving about this one when it came out. Don't shoot me...Not a huge fan. It doesn't perk me up, get me excited or really illicit any feeling at all. I actually wanted to take it off as soon as I put it on...AGAIN my opinion!

I added a little Kleancolor Chunky Holo BlueBell to the ring and middle finger for fun. Not bad I suppose.

Color Focus: China Glaze Aquadelic

Sorry its been a few days. I have that final stretch in school. Things are slowing down so I should be able to post more. I reorganized my stash and have it by color then brand. I need a more organized way to go through my polishes and swatch. I decided to do it by color. Lets start with blue!!

Here I have China Glaze Aquadelic. It is a bright aqua creme. Ok here's the deal. I hate creme finishes. They'll bubble, be streaky or too thick. I really believe this is user error. Any tips/tricks on applying cremes. Other than that, Aquadelic is a great spring/summer color. I used two coats and topped with SV.

Practice makes perfect, right?

China Glaze Some Like It Haute

Some Like It Haute from the Chine Glaze Eye Candy 3D glitter collection. It is a superfine black, gun-metal, charcoal micro-glitter with hexagonal glitter in a clear base. This is the only one I got from the collection; the others did not appeal to me at all. I don't know if I got a bad bottle but this was a pain to put on. It was so thick and goopy that I had to put some thinner in it. Worth it though!

Layering Time!!

Here we have two coats of China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise. I then layered it with two coats of Nfu-Oh 39. I really liked this combination. It's subtle but you can see a little flakes of green and blue. I plan on trying more layering to spice things up.

China Glaze Purple Panic

Purple Panic is a neon pink. I've seen many blogs that say it has very fine blue shimmer. I have a very hard time seeing it. I just see a blue undertone. It dried matte but I used Poshe topcoat to give it some shine.
I'm not the biggest pink fan but this one will stay in my collection. I can even see myself pulling for it. If it was not a neon, super, ridiculous, pink it may have been another story.

China Glaze Flying Dragon

Flying Dragon came out in 2008 in the INK collection. It is a deep purple with red and blue glitter. It dries very fast but it dries matte. I used Poshe topcoat which gave it some shine.

China Glaze Cosmic

This picture was taken a few weeks ago so excuse the cuticles. I think I was having a bad day at work lol. China Glaze Cosmic is a wonderful black base with silver and holo glitter. This formula was thick but worth working with it.
This may sound incredibly corny but I stare at this polish the same way I stare at the sky!

China Glaze Mahoganie

China Glaze Mahoganie. Reddish brown with multiple colors of glitter. This came out when CG released the 50 glitters collection.

No Flash

Flash
Look at that baby sparkle!! I've really been into glitters lately (even though they are so freakin' hard to remove). I'm about 3/4 way of my nail bed growing out from my acrylics. So I still have some dents and dips. Some polishes, like cream finish, makes them show more. Glitter hides them well. So close!!

China Glaze Lubu Heels

China Glaze Lubu Heels is a black base with fine, red glitter. It's a great color that I have reached for multiple times. I used three coats and topped with SV.

This color is based on the awesome shoes by Christian Louboutin.

China Glaze Paper Chasing

Random color of the day...Paper Chasing from the China Glaze Custom Kicks collection. This is an extremely bright/deep lime green.
This was on the sheer side so I had to use three coats. Do you see the bubbles? I'm pretty sure it was my base coat, not the color itself. This definitely catches people's eye!

Halloween 2011 VS. Halloween 2010

Today I have a little comparison. China Glaze Zombie Zest from Halloween 2010 VS. China Glaze It's Alive from Halloween 2011.

Left: Zombie Zest     Right: It's Alive

Left: Zombie Zest    Right: It's Alive
No Flash

Left: Zombie Zest     Right: It's Alive
With Flash
As you can see these are very different polishes. Zombie Zest is a yellow/green base with micro brown/mossy green glitter. It's Alive is a murky green base with packed round and hexagonal green glitter. Both are two coats. In my book, It's Alive wins! To me it's so much more fun.
I did wear It's Alive on my nails (it chipped at work so I didn't take a picture). It was a little thick but still manageable. I used two coats. I used a thicker coat of SV so I didn't feel the gritty texture of the glitter.
